Our Client, Texas Womens Foundation, is currently seeking a Vice President - Development. This leadership role provides strategic direction, planning and implementation of all fundraising and development efforts of the Foundation to meet its annual goals. The ideal candidate oversees all aspects of Development and works closely with the CEO, Board members, campaign cabinets and/or fundraising committees and councils, as well as volunteer leaders, for annual fundraising events. A successful leader will deliver focus on achieving peak performance in annual fund generation and gift expectancies, to ensure a strong and sustained revenue stream for the Foundation. This position also serves as a visible and effective ambassador in the community (locally and statewide) on behalf of the Foundation. This role is in Dallas, TX and requires state-wide travel. Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities listed below. Oversees and sets the direction and strategy of development for the organization, including campaigns, major gift programs, annual giving, fundraising events, corporate and foundation giving, and planned giving Serves as a member of the senior management team, which includes the VP Programs, the VP Finance & Operations, COO and the President & CEO, to contribute to the overall direction, goals and performance of the Foundation Advises the President & CEO and Board of Directors on matters related to fundraising and philanthropy; maintains effective working relationships with the Board of Directors, staff members, volunteers, individual donors, foundations, corporations and program partner Personally maintains a portfolio of 80 100 donors and prospects rated at $100,000 to $500,000+, and makes no less than 6 solicitations per month In collaboration with the CEO, directly manages fundraising with the Board of Directors, to ensure they meet the annual Board goal through their personal contributions, company contributions and introductions/referrals to new donors Oversees strategy and implementation of Foundations Annual Giving Plan developed by the AVP Annual Giving; ensures the Annual Giving team has support and resources in order to meet and exceed their goals Oversees strategy and execution for donor engagement with the Senior Manager of Donor Relations & Stewardship, leading the development team to achieve highest levels of donor stewardship, increase engagement of existing donors; develops strategies and approaches to generate ever-higher levels of giving Oversees strategy and execution for the Foundations major gifts and planned giving programs, ensuring these have the resources and support needed to meet and exceed their goals Establishes performance measures, monitor results and assists the COO in evaluating the effectiveness of the development team and strategy Develops mission advancement presentations and manages fundraising initiatives between staff and the Board of Directors Ensures a culture where effective teamwork, collaboration and innovation are expected, recognized and rewarded; leads by example with regard to appropriate risk-taking, cross organizational cooperation and clear standards of conduct Collaborates with communications and marketing to plan and oversee development and donor related publications, messaging, strategy and events In collaboration with VP Finance & Operations evaluate appropriate systems for fund development, including donor management, research and cultivation, gift processing, recognition and stewardship Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, maintains accountability standards to donors and ensures compliance with code of ethical principles of professional conduct for fundraising executives In every donor relationship, adheres to the highest ethical standards; demonstrates empathetic disposition and perseverance; reflects optimistic and positive attitude; and conveys sensitivity to needs of the donor Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential qualification satisfactorily. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful, multi-million dollar fundraising strategies and supporting donor operations across all aspects of fundraising operations, including building the case, cultivating donors, managing an effective fundraising team, and soliciting and securing major and leadership level gifts.
